Strive for beautification of City, corporators told
DH News Service, Mangalore:
Most of the newly elected councillors from BJP are youngsters. They should strive for the beautification of the City and the improvement of the roads that are causing inconvenience to the people, said MLA J Krishna Palemar.

He was speaking at a programme organised to congratulate the BJP corporators of Mangalore City Corporation and the activists of the party coming under Surathkal Assembly Constituency at Kavoor on Sunday.  Panamboor-Bengre (ward 11) Corporator Santhosh Shetty (rebel from Congress) joined BJP on the occasion. In the presence of BJP district chief Monappa Bhandary, Mr Palemar welcomed the new member to the party by handing over the party flag.

“Strive for the beautification of the City. Work for the development of drinking water supply system and roads. Think for the better maintenance of of street lights too,” the MLA advised the new councillors. He said not only water but also the MCC fund is leaking out of the system unnecessarily.

It should be stopped, he said. Welcoming Mr Santhosh Shetty to the party, Mr Palemar said Mr Shetty has been consenting with the ideologies of the party, hence the BJP members should accept him to the party.

Party leader Umanath Kotian presided.  Nalin Kumar Rai, Sudheer Shetty, M Shankar Bhat, Ganesh Hosabettu, Ramachandra Baikampady were present.
