'Don't support mining in Kodachadri'
DH News Service, Chikmagalur:

The members of Pashchima Ghatta Ulisi Andolona have urged the political parties not to support mining in Ambaragudda in Kodachadri.

According to a press release, “Ambaragudda is highly sensitive region. A private company had started mining in the region. However, it was stopped due to opposition from the villagers.”

Several organisations have expressed their support to Ambaragudda Ulisi Chaluvali.

The press release stated “forest department should not provide permission for mining in Western Ghats. In this regard, Deputy Commissioner, forest department and mines department should be cautious.”
