Home Guards commandment N R Purshottam has said that the Home Guards, the Fire Fighting force and BEML will jointly observe the National Disaster Management day on Monday.
Addressing mediapersons here, he said that in order to bring about awareness among people, a special programme has been chalked out.
At 8 am, a Jagruti jatha will be taken out from the municipal grounds by school and college students on the main streets. Later, legislators Rajendran and B P Munivenkatappa will inaugurate the programme.
A glimpse of how to manage national disasters will be shown, he said. Sub divisional officer M S Archana will inaugurate the Rapid Action Force team. Scouts State commissioner S Paulraj, will participate, he said.
