Cultural fest to be held in Madhugiri
Madhugiri:

 The ‘Ekashila Nadina Gadinadu Samskruthika Utsava’ has been organised under the aegis of Kannada and Culture Department, Kannada Development Authority, District Administration and Zilla Panchayat on November 14 and 15, said Sub division officer Anbukumar, in a release.
Litterateur and film director Professor Baraguru Ramachandrappa will inaugurate the function. Litterateur Pavagada Prakash Rao will deliver the key note address. I M Vittalmoorthy, Secretary of Tourism department  will inaugurate the cultural programmes. ZP President Krishna Moorthy will launch ‘Gadinadu Janapada Utsava’ which will start from Danduru Bagilu of Madhugiri on November 14. After the procession, at 1 pm, ‘Gadinadu Samskruthika Utsava’ will be held at Mali Mariappa open theatre, Mr Anbukumar said while listing out the programmes.
MLC’s R L Jalappa, Y Hanumanthappa, S Mallikarjunaiah will be the chief guests of the function. MLA’s of the District, members of Legislative Council and other representatives will participate in the fest, he added. Various cultural programmes will be the centre of attraction in the fest which will be at 3 pm by different associations, he stated.
On November 15 at 10 am, local artists will perform various programmes and a seminar has been organised at 11 am, in which litterateur Ma La Narasimha Moorthy will participate. In this seminar, Dr Kavalamma will speak on the ‘Problems of border regions’ and Sannanagappa, President of Pavagada Taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat will speak on ‘Educational problems in border areas’. Chikkanna Yennekatti, member of Karnataka Janapada and Yakshagana Academy will speak on the ‘Folk arts in border areas’.
Poets meet is also a part of the cultural fest, which will be held at 12 pm and will be presided over by Vidyavachaspathi Kavithakrishna. So Mu Bhaskarachar, M C Lalitha, Ba Ha Ramakumari, Shailanagaraj, Totada Mona Krishna Moorthy, C Krishnappa, Venkatesh, Kumar, Kamala Narsimha, Tumkur Bhargavi, Gowdanakatte Thimmaiah, Suma Anand Rao, Antharagange Shankarappa, Sha Na Prasanna Moorthy, C Sharada, Lalitha Siddabasappa, C H Maridevaru, Sir Ranganath, Bevinahalli Vinayak, Ta Sa Pushpa, Muddegowda and T Venkatesh will participate.
The valedictory function will be held at 4.30 pm which will be presided over by MLA K N Rajanna. Kannada Book Authority President Professor S G Siddaramaiah will deliver the vote of thanks. MLC and actor Mukhyamanthri Chandru will participate as the chief guest.
Two dance dramas from Prabhat artistes from Bangalore will be the major attraction after the valedictory function. They will enact ‘Karnataka Vaibhava’ and ‘Shabari’.
