In an age where people have everything but still desire for more and in an age where happiness is measured in terms of material wealth, there are 30 children who live in an orphanage but still give genuine smiles and emit peals of laughter. The cause - Mr S K Suresh and Ms Parvathy.
In a world where children leave their parents in homes for the aged and parents desert their own children soon after their birth, here is a couple which has selflessly given unconditional love to abandoned children. Aged between 2 and 14, these children numbering 30, some of whom were brought in from the streets, have made a home of the Ashadayaka Seva Trust in Mysore.
This Trust was started on June 12, 2003 with 14 street children in Mr Suresh's own rented house at Roopanagar, Mysore. Not being able to accommodate so many children in his small house, Mr Suresh shifted all the children to a different house at No. 2203/62, Java Main Road, Medhar Block, New Bamboo Bazaar, Mysore - 21.
This tiny house shelters these children, through the generous services of 'Mama' Suresh and 'Amma' Parvathy who, through their ever smiling and encouraging attitude, have provided for these little children a new lease of life.
All children of school-going age are being sent to Government schools. This Trust has many projects lined up for these children and so far, 125 children have been rehabilitated. Though some organisations have lent a helping hand to the Trust by way of donations in both cash and kind, a lot more needs to be done.
Any assistance provided to this Trust would go a long way in helping these children have a better future and a better life.
