The crime that has been committed by any person must be condemned and not the culprit, said Judge G Nanjundaiah.
Speaking at a legal awareness programme organised under the joint aegis of Taluk Legal Services Committee, Advocates’ Association and Prisons Department on the occasion of Legal Services Day at sub-jail premises on Monday, he said nobody is a criminal by birth. Man, who is a social animal, commits crime due to certain pressures. Those who are serving sentence in prison, must realise their mistakes and try to become worthy citizens in future, he advised.
Sub-jail Supervisor Vittal R Jadav inaugurated the programme. Taluk Advocates’ Association President H R Venkateshmoorthi, ASI Gangadhar and government official Sharanagowda V Patil were present.
Advocate M C Suma delivered a lecture on the topic ‘Imprisonment, rights of the jailed person and bail’.
