With accumulated silt closing the well at Nagalapura region from where Tunga river water is lifted to be supplied to the town for drinking purposes, an alternative project will be implemented at a cost of Rs 1.75 lakh, informed Tahsildar Narasimharaju.
The tahsildar who inspected the spot along with Taluk Panchayat President B S Satish and spoke to the villagers said that the villagers’ demand for an alternative project instead of removing the silt is justifiable. He also assured that he will discuss the issue with the technicians of Water Board.
