Taluk unit of the JD(S) would commit itself to the decisions to be taken by former minister M P Prakash on his future course of action, its president Aravalli Veeranna said.
Leader more imp
Speaking to reporters after attending a JD(S) workers’ meet, which discussed the pros and cons of Mr Prakash joining the State cabinet, Mr Veeranna said that the workers of the taluk unit of the party would rally behind the former home minister as
the leader was more important than the party itself.
Support
Mr Prakash’s supporters had thrown their weight behind the senior leader and the same trend would continue in the future too, he asserted adding that the workers would sink differences in backing the leader in his political moves.
They also resolved to urge the JD(S) leadership to make Mr Prakash’s son M P Raveendra a member of the legislative council and accommodate him in the State cabinet, Mr Veeranna said.
However, the JD(S) workers who took part in the meet failed to hammer out a consensus on whether Mr Prakash should join the new BJP-JD(S) ministry.
But they said that the former home minister should not fall prey to the political manoeuvre of JD(S) President H D Deve Gowda and his son H D Kumaraswamy.
