Sri Vishwesha Teertha Swamiji of Udupi Pejawar Mutt said that the BJP-led coalition government in the State should complete its full term to avoid snap polls.
Coalition government had become inevitable as no single political entity secured absolute majority in the elections, he said adding that he would wish success to the newly formed government.
No political party was untouchable and any parties could join hands to ensure welfare of the people at large, the pontiff said.He was critical of the Congress, which branded itself as secular, aligning with the Muslim League and at the same time criticising the BJP for its pro-Hindu stance. “If the Congress dubs BJP communal, why should it have truck with the Muslim League?” he said.
Gujarat CM Narendra Modi might not be guilty in the communal violence that took place in that state in 2002.
