Dr Sharanamma Gorebal has noted that each poet should inevitably have an attitude of responding to the needs of society.
Speaking at the function organised in connection with 63rd birthday of Mr G B Hombal, a retired district chief librarian and also release of two books written by Basu Bevingidad, programme executive of All India Radio, Dharwad’s “Survya” and Chiatra Bevingidad’s “Kareyuvudu Kogile” here on Monday, she opined that talent was required for writting poems and such a social commitment was seen in Chaitra. The articles such as parents, cycle, naughty brother, nature and ring tones of mobile phones were the subjects of Chaitra’s poems which proved her creativity.
Ms Sunanda Kadami said one could find simple language in Mr Basu’s novel “Surya”. He had been successful in catching the attention of readers through crisp and simple language, which can be understood even by children. While writing for children, one should adopt children’s “Manodharma”, she added.
Nadoja Chennaveera Kanavi said Chaitra’s collection of poems has enriched the children’s literature and appreciated her interest in writing poems.
AIR Station Director C U Bellakki presided. Mr G M Hombal, Mr Eshwar Kammar, Mr Eshwar Hombal, Ms Uma Bevingidad, Mr Shyamsundar Bidarkundi, Ms Kamala Hemmige, Mr Anil Desai were present. Mr Basu and Miss Chaitra spoke on their works.
