The Karnataka State Council for Child Welfare has announced the list of children who would be presented Bravery Awards on the occasion of Children’s Day.
Seven children are expected to be given away awards by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa and Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Wednesday at the Jawahar Bal Bhavan.
Stamps
BMTC Managing Director Upendra Tripathy will donate a bus to Balbhavan on the occasion, while Meera Datta, Chief Post Master General, Karnataka Circle, will present Children’s Day commemorative stamps to mark the day.
List of awardees
- K M Siddaraju: 12-year-old student studying in seventh standard, Kestu School at Kestur hobli in Tumkur district. He saved the life of a boy who nearly drowned in a lake.
-Gagan J Murthy and Bhoomika J Murthy: 6-year old twins studying in class one at Capital Public School at J P Nagar in Bangalore. They saved the life of a one-and-a-half-year-old child from being attacked by a bull.
-R G Ashwin: 16-year-old boy, studying in 11 standard at Vidyamandir College in Malleswaram.
He had assisted police to nab three robbers. -Sainath Habalkar: 10-year-old boy from Nanjangud, Mysore district and a student of class four at Carmel English School, Ooty Road in Nanjangud. He saved the life of his six-year-old brother Sagar.
-P Shreyas: Aged 6 years and studying at Vasavi Vidya Kendra at Hassan. He saved the life of master Dhawni.
-R Reddappa: 7th standard student at Government Kannada Lower Primary School, Mulbagal.
A partly visually impaired boy, he had saved the life of his friend Kumara.
