Deutsche Bank,  Landmark’s card
Deutsche Bank and Landmark, a large retail book-store chains, on Wednesday, announced the launch of the Deutsche Bank Landmark credit card. Specially created for books, music and movie aficionados, the card is available in two variants - Deutsche Bank Landmark Platinum card and Deutsche Bank Landmark Gold card. Card holders can earn up to six reward points for every Rs 100 spent. Cardholders will receive a Landmark gift voucher of upto Rs 4,000 with the card. Every point redeemed is equivalent to Rupee 1.

E&Y announces 20 finalists
Twenty of India’s successful entrepreneurs have been identified as ‘Finalists’ for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2007. This was announced in New Delhi on Tuesday. Now in its 9th year in India, the awards will be announced on November 20, 2007. Some prominent names among the finalists are Atul Punj of Punj Lloyd, Glen Saldanha of  Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Keshub Mahindra of Mahindra & Mahindra, R Ramalinga Raju of Satyam Computers, Sajjan Jindal of  JSW Steel, Shiv Nadar of HCL, Shikha Sharma, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance. The finalists were selected from a list of 170 names.

SyndBank’s loan request online
Syndicate Bank on Wednesday announced the launch of online request for three more loan products namely housing loans, loans for professional and self employed, and traders for loans above Rs two lakhs. The Bank has already introduced, web enabled system of online request for loans from prospective customers for loan amounts Rs 25 lacs and above under SME sector and for educational loans irrespective of loan amount with effect from October 24, 2007. The facility enables the applicants to access and submit their requests for loan on-line through the bank website www.syndicatebank.in

Apple’s Mac OS X Leopard in India
Apple, on Wednesday, announced in California that its new operating system Mac OS X Leopard is now available at Apple authorised retailers in India. Leopard is packed with more than 300 new features and introduces a brand new desktop with stacks, a new way to easily access files from the Dock; a redesigned finder that lets users quickly browse and share files between multiple Macs, said a company release. Leopard automatically places web, email and other downloads in a downloads stack to maintain a clutter-free desktop. Mac OS X version 10.5 Leopard is priced at Rs 6,200 for a single user licence and a family pack is a single-residence, five-user licence is available for Rs 9,660.

SBI’s e-broking office at SBM
SBICAPS Securities Ltd in association with State Bank of Mysore (SBM), on Wednesday, announced the opening of its e-broking office at the SBM’s Basavanagudi branch for exclusive servicing of SBM clients. This is a value added service provided to SBM clients with access to multiple services and triple benefits like bank, demat and internet trading account.
    With the launch of online trading services for DP clients, any SBM client, with internet enabled savings or current account, can have access to online trading facility at any centre in the country, by opening a demat cum trading account.

MindTree buys TES-PurpleVision
MindTree Consulting on Wednesday announced in Bangalore that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire 100 per cent equity in TES-PV Electronic Solutions Private Ltd (Purple Vision), the India-based, fully-owned subsidiary of TES Electronic Solutions SA, the global electronics design and manufacturing services company based in France. MindTree will acquire Purple Vision in an all-cash deal of $6.55 million. Purple Vision has a strength of 150 employees.

FLEXCUBE goes live at Citi
i-flex solutions announced from New York on Wednesday that it has completed the rollout of FLEXCUBE, its flagship banking product, in 67 countries within Citi’s markets & banking division. With the completion of the rollout, FLEXCUBE now supports Citi Markets & Banking’s extensive, complex operations in the US, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Launched in 1997, FLEXCUBE is a multi-currency system capable of being deployed across multiple geographies while centralizing data processing at single or multiple hubs.
