The store will offer gold, diamond, platinum and silver jewellery.
Reliance is the second corporate house after Tata to enter in to the Rs 80,000 crore Indian jewellery industry dominated by three lakh local and regional players.
Briefing reporters President & Chief Executive Bijou Kurien said, “It has been the endeavour of Reliance to provide consumers with wide range of high quality products at competitive price. Reliance Jewels is another milestone in this effort in bringing unique shopping experience with assured purity of gold and certification of gold.” All gold jewellery sold at Reliance Jewels outlets are 100 per cent BIS hallmarked and every diamond carries carries certification by an international certification laboratory, he added.
The three-storeyed and 6,000 sq ft store offers around 10,000 designs of jewellery. The range encompasses Kolkota filigree, Rajkot minakari jewellery, temple jewellery from Kerala, Jadau from Amritsar, Kundan from Jaipur, etc. One floor is reserved for bridal collection sets with private viewing room for added comfort. Reliance Jewels, which plans to open 300 stores in three years, will foray into Hyderabad market next month.
