The notice is addressed to Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary, Department of Urban Development.
Releasing copies of the notice at a press conference here on Thursday, Mr Ramesh said the Palike administrator has issued the circular in the absence of an elected body, both in the Palike and the State. This is a violation of Sections 103 and 104 of Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976, he said.
“The Palike issued the circular within six days of passing resolution on implementing the CVS. As per Section 104 of the Act, once the resolution is passed, it should be sent to the government and published in the official gazette. But the administrator didn’t forward it to the government,” Ramesh added.
The former mayor also said that if he does not receive any response from the State government within seven days from the date of receipt of his notice, he would take legal action against the civic body.
