It is learnt that Gowda on Thursday met senior Congress leader and Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi and AICC General Secretary Prithviraj Chavan, who is in charge of the party unit in Karnataka, and discussed the possibility of renewing the ties between the two parties, sources said.
Gowda was in the national capital to attend the winter Session of Parliament, which began on Thursday.
Gowda is said to have met both the Congress leaders separately and held discussions. He was also learnt to have offered the chief minister post to the Congress.
However, the Congress, when contacted, refused any comment.
JD (S) spokesperson Y S V Datta denied any such meeting.
