According to sources, the BJP will go for the Cabinet expansion to fill its remaining 11 ministerial berths on November 22. At a meeting of BJP leaders with RSS functionaries in Bangalore on Thursday, the party decided to hold its cabinet expansion separately. The JD(S) legislators are scheduled to join the Ministry on November 21.
In the BJP camp, four cabinet ministers have already been sworn in with Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Monday. Meanwhile, a probable list has been drawn after hectic parleys. The list is likely to be furnished before BJP central leaders in New Delhi when Yeddyurappa meets them on Friday.
According to sources the names of four more legislators, who had an opportunity to serve in the ministry in the previous coalition figures in the list - community and district of the probables indicated in brackets - Katta Subramanya Naidu (backward class, Bangalore Urban), C M Udasi (lingayat, Haveri), S A Ravindranath (lingayat, Davangere) and Nagaraj Shetty (bunt, Dakshina Kannada).
The new faces include Malur MLA Krishna Shetty (backward class, Kolar), Rajendra Verma (SC, Bidar) and Sashil Namoshi (lingayat, Gulbarga).
Interestingly, the name of K S Eshwarappa does not figure in the probables. With several senior leaders hailing from Shimoga, sources said the party has short-listed Thirthahalli MLA Araga Jnanendra for a ministerial berth this time.
A sulking Eshwarappa is already in New Delhi and is also likely to put forth his views before the central leaders. Some legislators are also camping in New Delhi: D S Veeranna, Chandrashekar Patil and C C Patil are among them.
Meanwhile, the party is yet to zero in on its women candidate to be inducted in the Cabinet - contenders include Vimala Gowda, Shakuntala Shetty and Shobha Karandlaje.
