Janardhan entered the realm of artistic writing in the early 1990's, before which he had dabbled with a number of professions — he worked with pharmaceuticals, corrugated boxes, film and much more. When he decided to get into handwriting research, everyone dissuaded and ridiculed him.
Their discouraging remarks, instead of dimming his enthusiasm, strengthened his pursuit to follow his passion for calligraphy. Today, he has mastered the art of calligraphy and has not only charmed corporates with his writing abilities, but also students, teachers, and parents. He has achieved such exalted heights in this profession that he is one of the very few Indians, to have written on his passport by his own hand.
Recalls Janardhan, “When I was about three or four-years-old, my mother noticed that I was throwing tantrums while giving me a bath.”
“I would clench my teeth and would become still and then lose consciousness and then sleep for an hour or so. It was only when I was about seven or eight years old that I was diagnosed with what is known as ‘hot water epilepsy.’ There is a stigma attached to those suffering from epilepsy. I was isolated from my friends, relatives and neighbours and I felt bad. It was a Cindrella Syndrome.”
But instead of moping, Janardhan engrossed himself in achieving excellence in whatever he did.
He did mimicry, conceptualised stage plays, painted, sculpted and did miniature modelling.
He wanted to prove that he was no less than any other person. He was recognised and accepted for his talents.
Janardhan is now cured of epilepsy. Since the Early 1990s epileptic fits have never recurred.
Until the 1980s he was under medication. Janardhan now uses his experience to motivate others.
