Vengsarkar asked to explain: Shah
Mumbai, pti:

The Board of Control for Cricket in India has sought an explanation from Chief Selector Dilip Vengsarkar about the column he’s continuing to write in some newspapers defying the BCCI’s ban.
“We have asked for an explanation from him. That’s all. We can’t monitor each and every paper in the country (whether Vengsarkar’s column appears or not),” BCCI Secretary Niranjan Shah reacted from Rajkot.
Vengsarkar is continuing to write a column “Cover Drive” in some vernacular newspapers, notably the Marathi daily “Sakal” owned by the brother of BCCI chief Sharad Pawar.
Earlier in the day, Shah had said that the BCCI was not aware of the matter but had promised to “look into” it.
