Syed spurs Nationals

 Syed Nasheed followed up a spell of six for 61 with an unbeaten 103 (98b, 12x4) to single-handedly pilot New National Cricket Club to a four-wicket win over Indiranagar Cricketers in the KSCA league-cum-knockout tournament for the Metro Shield here.
Batting first, Indiranagar were restricted to 234 for eight from their 50 overs, Amrish Singh top-scoring with an unbeaten 66. Nasheed then took New National home with more than five overs to spare, receiving good support from Wajed Sherrif (57). For Indiranagar, A Manohar was the most successful bowler with four for 59.
Brief scores: Indiranagar Cricketers: 234/8 in 50 overs (Ajan Sainis 52, Chethan 37, Amrish Singh 66 n.o.; Syed Nasheed 6-61) lt to New National Cricket Club: 236/6 in 44.5 overs (Syed Nasheed 103 n.o., Wajed Sherrif 57; A Manohar 4-59).
Duleep Cricketers: 188 all out in 50 overs (Lohithram 31, Mahalinga 33, Srinivas 32 n.o.; Gopi 3-40, Anand 4-24) bt Hosakote Cricket Club: 175 all out in 44.4 overs (Santosh 28; Mahesh Babu 3-31, Jayprakash 3-39, MK Raju 2-48).
Select Cricketers: 229 all out in 49.4 overs (Ashish 28, Manju Kumar 39, Ibrahim 59; Krishna 4-56, Gopi 2-52) lt to Star Cricketers XI: 231/6 in 37.5 overs (Pramod 102, Jayanth 46; Shreyas 3-70).

Visveswarapuram CC (2): 224 all out in 47.3 overs (Shashikanth 46, Suruprasad 29, Mohan Singh 57; James 5-120, John 3-71) bt Oriental Cricket Club: 141 all out in 35 overs (Shekar 31, James 34; P Venkatesh 2-26, Mohan Singh 2-20, Kiran 2-25, Raghavendra 2-9).
