President of district Cooperative Union Byalahalli M Govinda Gowda has alleged that the BEML management has been interfering in the affairs of BEML cooperative societies. It is unfortunate that BEML management is joining hands with the commercial banks instead of cooperative banks, he added.
He was speaking at a programme organised as part of 54th All India Cooperative Week here.
There are four cooperative societies in BEML factory, which has a staff strength of over 6,000 people. These cooperative unions have been extending loan facilities to the workers whenever they needed monetary help.
However, the BEML management has been neglecting these unions and diverting its business to commercial banks, he said.
President of BEML cooperative union K Taranath, President of UDF Sangha Iqbal Ahmed, President of KGF Pattina cooperative Union Tiruna Ukkars, CEO of district cooperative union K Mallaiah and others spoke on the occasion. CWC Sangha Secretary Chandrashekhar proposed a vote of thanks.
