Sriram sets up NCET victory
Banking on Sriram’s 62  Nagarjuna College of Engineering Technology (NCET) scored a 41-run win over BNM Institute of Technology (BNMIT) in the inter-engineering college Twenty20 cricket tournament.

Batting first, NCET made 159 for three in 20 overs. In reply, BNMIT were all out for 118 in 17.3 overs.
Brief scores:
NCET: 159/3 in 20 overs (Sriram 62, Mahendar 58) bt BNMIT: 118 all out in 17.3 overs (Rakesh 25; Anirudha 5-13).

AIT: 93/8 in 15 overs (Shiva Kumar 36) lt to SIT, Tumkur: 95/2 in 14 overs (Pavan 38).

CMP clinch    hockey title
Corps of Military Police emerged champions in the BEL Colony Youth Association State-level hockey tournament with a 2-0 win over Naveen ‘B’ in the finals on Saturday. Baxla D K put CMP ahead in the ninth minute while Sunil Minz doubled the tally in the 27th minute for the winners.

Srivatsa makes National final
Arjun Srivatsa pipped former India International David D'Souza to reach the National final of the 13th edition of the BT Honda Pro-Am 2008. In the Southern Regional round held at the Eagleton Golf Resort on Saturday, Arjun and David both ended with 36 stableford points in the 0-8 handicap category at the end of the stipulated round. Arjun piped David on a count back of the last nine holes.

Also making it to the National final in Delhi in February was Vishal Bhat, who also pipped Raj Krishna on count-back in the 9-16 handicap category after having logged 39 stableford points, and Vineet Kshirsagar from the 17-24 category after scoring 37 stableford points. The quartet of Shane O'Neil, Vishal Bhat, Sumit Rathor and SW Kim walked away with the team honours. After logging 105 points, they narrowly beat the second-placed team of GS Ravi, Nandan Heblikar, Desmond Rice and Vineet Kshirsagar.

Minerva assured  of promotion
MInerva secured the second and final spot to the ‘B’ Division league from their group with a 3-0 win over Navaratna in the ‘C’ Division football league at the 515 Army Base Workshop ground on Saturday.
Kishore (25th), Suresh (38th) and Karthik (55th) struck for the winners as they along with MICO are virtually assured of promotion from their respective group.
