Workshop on philately held  
The workshop on philately organised by the Department of Posts in association with the Dakshina Kannada Philatelic and Numismatic Association (DAKAPANA) at Head Post office in Pandeshwar was a novel experience for children interested in the king of hobbies. DAKAPANA Vice President K V Shanbag spoke to the children on various aspects of philately on the occasion from the etymology of the word to the tools of a philatelist.

There have been innumerable promises about the sanction of funds for the repair of the damaged National Highway in Shiradi Ghat region. There are some huge assurances and promises made to complete the road works and make Shiradi Ghat motorable by February 2008. The prevailing situations are raising question at the possibilities of completion of the work even by May 2008.
