Delay in Mlore-Blore train service
Okkuta plans face-to-face with elected reps
DH News Service, Mangalore:

Mangalooru Railway Horatagarara Okkuta has decided to hold face to face programme with the elected representatives as part of their protest against the delay in the commencement of Mangalore-Bangalore train service and to hold district bundh.

The decision was taken at a meeting held at DC office premises on Sunday. It was decided to undertake Sathyagraha being carried out under the aegis of Railway Development Action Committee Convenor P V Mohan, under the banner of Okkuta from Monday onwards.

Many felt that lack of will power on the part of elected representatives is responsible for the delay in the commencement of the train service. “If we carry out our protest unitedly by including all the political parties, we can reach out to the authority. In this background, it was essential to bring MP Sadananda Gowda, Janardhan Poojary, Manorama Madhwaraj and Oscar Fernandes under one platform for a dialogue.”

The meeting expressed its disappointment over the elected representatives who are yet to wake up from the deep slumber.

Former mayor K Diwakar, JD (S) leader Aslam, CPM office-bearer K R Sriyan among others were present.

BJP PROTEST FROM NOV 24

Dakshina Kannada district BJP will enter into a struggle for the commencement of train service on November 24. BJP activists will sit on the railway tracks at Mangalore Central and Mangalore junction between 10.30 am and 5.30 pm and will stop the movement of the trains. More than 10,000 activists are expected to take part.
