Kannadigas should be ready to protect the language and the state from the influence of other languages, opined MLA B Satynarayana.
Presiding over the function held at Jyoti Nagar as part of Kannada Rajyotsava he said each citizen of Karnataka should have great respect for the language and should develop love for Kannada.
Kannadigas who are known for secularism, broad mindedness, helping nature and tolerance should make an honest attempt in protecting the Kannada culture.
Tahasildar A C Renukaprasad said Kannada Rajyotsava Programme should never be limited only to the State but it should get a status across the world, he said.
City Municipal Member R Ugresh unfurled the flag and said one should be ready to fight if there is any threat to state, language, literature, culture.
City Municipal Commissioner Siddaramaiah, City Station Circle Inspector V Mariyappa, Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Bilikenchappa, Zilla Panchayat Engineer P Chandra Shekarappa, BEO Krishnamurthy, artist Dr K Ramakrishna and others were present on the occasion.
