Kempambudhi Kere Ulisi Andolana Samithi, on Sunday, took out a protest rally oppossing the alleged attempts to encroach Kempambudhi tank by Basavanagudi MLA Chandrashekhar.

The rally began at Dodda Ganapati Temple and reached tank bed after covering Hanumanth Nagar, Srinagar, Gavipura.

Hundreds of people took part in the rally. Protesters shouted slogans against the MLA and demanded that the tank area should be protected for the future generations.

Karnataka Rakshana Vedike president T A Narayana Gowda said that the Vedike will intensify its protest against encroachment of the tank area.  He also demanded that development works taken up adjacent to the tank should be named after Kempegowda as the tank was built by the erstwhile ruler of the city.
Former MLA K N Subba Reddy, educationist Prof M R Doreswamy, Vokkaliga Sangha president Lakke Gowda and others took part in the protest.
