Nihal Manjunath of Mangalore pipped Gahan M G to take the boys’ title in the State under-13 chess championship here on Sunday.

Manjunath drew his final round game with Gahan to finish atop with 6.5 points while the latter took his tally to six points. In the corresponding girls’ event, Shristi J Shetty of Shimoga took the top honours.
