Rajkumar takes second spot
D Rajkumar edged out Duncan Mackenzie 818-707 to take the second spot in the Senior State-ranking billiards tournament at the KSBA Hall on Sunday.

B Bhaskar, who had sealed the title on Saturday, outclassed former champion Arvind Savur 1716-411 to finish with an all-win record in the State meet.

Results: B Bhaskar: 1716 (182, 177, 223, 320, 111) bt Arvind Savur: 411; D Rajkumar: 818 (102) bt Duncan Mackenzie: 707; B V Srinivasa Murthy bt M Lakshman 777-453; G Kishore Kumar bt A Satish Kumar 886-521.
Final standings: B Bhaskar 1; D Rajkumar 2; Duncan Mackenzie 3; B V Srinivasa Murthy 4; Arvind Savur 5; M Lakshman 6; G Kishore Kumar 7; Sohail Jairaj 8.

Ranjit stars in  big CMP victory
Geeta Ranjit Singh scored three goals as Corps of Military Police (CMP) outclassed BSNL 7-3 in the KSHA ‘B’ division hockey league championship at the KSHA stadium on Sunday.

Ranjit led the CMP charge with strikes in the third, fifth and 42nd minutes. The other goal for the winners came from Manoj Tirkey (10th), Masib Horo (25th), Kamal Horo (48th) and Pratap Horo (59th).

For BSNL, Chengappa (19th), Ashoka BV (35th) and Nadeem Bepari (44th) were on target.

Other results: Sree Hanuman Blessing, Gadag: 4 (Vinod Kattimani 20, Ravi Gokak 40, Srinivas 50, Praveen Chapramani 55) bt Rangers: 3 (Mario Denise 10, Thomas 30, Lawrence 60).

Saturday’s result: Bombers: 5 (Suresh 33 & 52, Varun 34, Devaiah 57 & 58) bt SHB, Gadag: 2 (Vinod Kattimani 54, Ravi Gokak 56).

Socials down Yellows
Hindu Socials struck two second-half goals to register a 3-2 victory over Bangalore Yellows in the ‘C’ Division football league at the 515 Army Base Workshop ground on Sunday.

Though the winners took the lead in the seventh minute through Prasanna, Yellows snatched the initiative by slotting two goals in the span of six minutes with Anand (9th) and Zaid (15th) finding the target. However, Prasanna restored parity for Hindu Socials in the 56th minute while Mani netted the winner three minutes later.

Bangalore City  enter final
Bangalore City got past Bangalore Urban 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-11 to enter the final of the boys’ event in the Junior inter-district volleyball championships for the Prof S T Nagaraj Memorial trophy on Sunday.
Bangalore City will take on Shimoga in the title clash as the latter got the better of Dakshina Kannada 25-17, 13-25, 27-25, 28-26. In the girls’ event, Mysore posted a 26-24, 25-22, 25-15 victory over Dakshina Kannada and will face Bangalore City, who outclassed Shimoga 25-23, 25-22, 26-24.

Results (semifinals):
Boys: Bangalore City bt Bangalore Urban 25-23, 21-25, 25-22, 23-25, 25-11; Shimoga bt Dakshina Kannada 25-17, 13-25, 27-25, 28-26.

Girls: Mysore bt Dakshina Kannada 26-24, 25-22, 25-15; Bangalore City bt Shimoga 25-23, 25-22, 26-24.

Sub-Jr boxing selection trials
The Karnataka Amateur Boxing Association will conduct the State sub-junior selection trials on November 23 at the S A K Boxing Hall at the Sree Kanteerava stadium.

The selected boxers will represent Karnataka in the sub-junior National Boxing Championship to be held at Nagaland from December 11.

Boxers born between 1992 to 1996 are eligible. For further details regarding registration, , contact J Vincent on 93412-52859.
