Speaking at the valedictory of Krishi Mela at the University campus on Monday, Mr Ramaswamy said the stem cell research centre will help in conducting research to increase nutrition value in vegetables.

Chief Secretary P B Mahishi said such melas should not be restricted to Bangalore City alone.
They should be held in all district centres for the benefit of farmers staying away from Bangalore city.
He also appealed to the university to promote organic farming among farmers.
