Hike in pay demanded
The Karnataka State High School Assistant Masters’ Association has urged the State government to redress anomaly in the hike in high school assistant masters’ pay.
General Secretary K C Puttasidda Setty told reporters here on Monday said that the Association has also demanded the government to provide medical allowance to teachers of aided schools and increase the retirement age of State government employees to 62 years.
‘Teach dignity of labour in schools’
Chairman of the Political Science Department at Osmania University, Kancha Ilaiah said that there is a need to teach dignity of labour in schools.
He was speaking at the inauguration of conference on ‘Redefining Education - Regaining Struggle - Renovating Society’ organised by the Students’ Islamic Organisation on Monday. He said, there should be government English medium for poor.
He said that uniform curriculum should be introduced across the country and NCERT curriculum is most preferred as “it is debated in the parliament.”
