Awards for 25 persons

The Bangalore chapter of the International Integrity Peace and Friendship Society on Monday gave away the Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Awards to 25 people from different fields of activity. During the programme organised as part of the celebrations of the 89th birth anniversary of late former prime minister Indira Gandhi, Legislative Council secretary K Jayashankaramurthy and Doordarshan Kendra Bangalore Director Mahesh Joshi gave away the awards to individuals who had contributed to various spheres of life including education, social service, health and industry. Joshi himself was one of the awardees.

BU teachers told to open account in SBM

Bangalore University College Teachers’ Association (BUCTA) has appealed to all the teachers to open SB account with SBM anywhere in Karnataka and to intimate the account number to BU finance section through the principal immediately. President K G Lokesh has urged the teachers to avail of the facility by taking up examination related work without fail as BU has decided to remit remuneration of the teachers who will be on examination related works, to the teachers’ SB accounts with SBM.
