Appreciate Indian culture
DH News Service, Tumkur:

“It does not matter what activities that children pursue, but they should be able to identify the Indianess in it” according to Sri Shivananda Shivachar Swamiji of Hiremutt.

He was participating in the  fancy dress competition that was  held in Vidhyamanasa school on the  occasion of Children’s day. He gave this peace of advice to the children on the occasion.

“We are the heirs to a magnificent culture that has been honed by our forefathers. This is  accepted even by the west. It is therefore a tragedy that some of the young  people of our  country still  look towards the western  culture for their  identity. It is therefore very  important  that children understand the importance of taking forward the  culture that they are born into” said the seer.

He also added that student  life was priceless and the  prefect time for the children  to imbibe morals and values into their  lives. He opined that the right  values and  morals that are instilled in the students would  go a long way into building a bright and prosperous future for India.

He called the children study hard and pay attention to their education and as well develop an interest in co circular activities as well so they  can  develop a rounded personality that is  extremely important in the  current scenario.

He also distributed free note books and toys to the children in the school. The Headmistress of the school M Mamtha Ravishankar and administrator Rudraswamy also participated in the programme. Students also  presented more than 30 science models at the  programme. The  fancy dress competition was overseen  by the Yamuna and  Lavanya.
