Rashtriya Heddari Naveekarana Horata Samithi and other organisations staged a protest to urge the authorities concerned to repair NH 206 which passes through Tarikere, on Monday.  The protectors took out a procession from Om Circle and staged a ratsa roko at Gandhi Circle.

Town Municipality Council Member T J Gopikumar said “NH 206 which passes through Tarikere does not have the quality of a NH. Every year, the road gets damaged. There is a need to repair the road immediately.”

Private Bus Owners Association Honourary President Chandrashekar said officials are responsible for the poor quality of work. Officials are hand in glove with the contractors for poor quality of work on road, he alleged and said that the DC should inspect the road and stringent action should be initiated against the guilty.
