Swami cons woman
Showing faith in a ‘Swami’ proved dear to a woman who became poorer by around Rs 1.5 lakh on Sunday.
A swami, identified as Ganesh Kulkarni, came to Meena Thankur’s house to free her family from the afflictions of malefic planets. The woman agreed to perform rituals, when her husband was not at home. Kulkarni with his companion began the rituals and asked Meena to keep all the ornaments in a piece of cloth. Later he asked her to go to offer prayer at a nearby temple.
When she returned from the temple, after half-an-hour, the Swamji and his accomplices had made away with the ornaments.
In her complaint she stated that this was not the first occasion when she met Ganesh Kulkarni. Around a year ago, the thug had come to her house when her brother-in-law, living in New Delhi, had come to her house. He had walked away with Rs 100 then and even took her brother-in-law’s Delhi address. Last year he had made attempts to deceive her but failed as the woman did not trust her.
Kulkarni even went to Delhi and met her brother-in-law but there he was driven out of the house. Yet he did not give up hopes and at last made away with the valuables of Meena Thakur.
