Though the Centre has 60 days’ time to get parliamentary ratification, it is likely that Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil will go to Parliament in the current winter session itself for the purpose.
SC judgement
As per the Supreme Court judgment in the Bommai case, once the president’s rule is ratified, decks should be cleared for the Union Cabinet to recommend to the president the dissolution of the assembly.
Parliament will be in session until December 7.
There were also official indications here that the two retired IAS officers and another retired IPS who worked as advisors to the governor during the earlier spell of president’s rule could be back in the saddle, this time for a longer period.
The three advisors — Hormese Tharakan, P P Prabhu and S Krishna Kumar — had relinquished charge the day Yeddyurappa was sworn in as chief minister.
