Tyson to serve one day in jail
Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, who pleaded guilty in September to drug possession and driving under the influence, was sentenced by a Maricopa county court on Monday to 10 days in jail, but will only serve one day.
Tyson, 41, was arrested last December when he was spotted driving his BMW erratically and nearly collided with a sheriff's vehicle.
Karnataka in knockout stage
Karnataka qualified for the knockout stage of the South Zone Polly Umrigar Trophy (under-15) tournament after their drawn encouter with Tamil Nadu in Thiruvananthapuram on Tuesday, reports DHNS.
On the final day’s play, Karnataka, having set Tamil Nadu a tricky target of 193 for win, had reduced their rivals to a precarious 136 for eight in 77 overs before day’s play was called off.
Suchith Jagadeesh (four for 45) was the main wicket-taker while first innings hero Aman Raj claimed two for 34.

Mithun, Sagar restrict Delhi
A Mithun’s five-wicket haul and Aditya B Sagar’s four-wicket effort, helped Karnataka restrict Delhi to a modest 225 all out in 72.4 overs on the opening day of their four-day match in the Cooch Behar Trophy (under-19) tournament at the Roop Singh Stadium in Jaipur on Tuesday, reports DHNS from Bangalore.
After opting to bat first, Delhi struggled to construct meaningful partnerships.
Karnataka were 64 for two in 17 overs in their reply when stumps were drawn.

Delhi CWG gets London boost
London Olympics chiefs have promised coaching and other expert assistance for India as it prepares to stage the 2010 Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, reports Reuters.
Sebastian Coe, head of the 2012 Olympic Games body, and chief of the Commonwealth Games organising committee, Suresh Kalmadi, signed a deal pledging cooperation in many areas on Tuesday.
Coe said the two sides would look to pool their expertise to ensure an excellent Games as well as medal success for their own athletes.
