Peacemaker 'cop' bashed up by duo
DH News Service, Bangalore:
A walkie, attached to the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (South), who tried to pacify two drunkards, sustained injuries when they beat him up on Thursday night in Girinagar police limits.

According to sources, two persons came out of a bar exchanging heated words. Soon the exchange of words turned into a brawl. Chandra Mohan, the walkie, who accidentally saw them fighting, tried to intervene. Irked by his intervention, the duo bashed him up and fled in their bikes.

When contacted, the Girinagar police refused to divulge any more details, but confirmed that the incident took place.

Passengers robbed, car taken away
Five unidentified persons waylaid a car, robbed the occupants and decamped with the car, in Electronic City police limits on Wednesday night.

According to the police, M K Srinivasa (37), project manager at Mico, was on his way to Bangalore from Mahabaleshwaram in Tamil Nadu, along with his two mechanics Basavaraj and Prasanna, when the incident took place. When their car approached BTS 19th depot on Hosur Road, the miscreants came in three bikes and accosted the car.

They threatened with lethal weapons and dragged all the three out of the car.
