From now onwards major roads in Bangalore City will be swept by mechanical sweepers.
Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagar Palike administrator Dilip Rau, on Thursday, flagged off four mechanical sweepers.
Commissioner S Subramanya said the vehicles will sweep major roads - Airport Road, MG Road, Cubbon Road, Race Course Road, Ambedkar Veedhi and Nrupathunga Road - twice a day during non-peak hours from 11 pm to 2 am and 11 am to 2 pm.
Mechanical sweeping vehicles remove dust, clear drains and collect municipal waste.
