Tahasildhar B Shivaswamy has giving a stern warning to those involved in illegal stone mining in the area and threatened criminal proceedings against them if it continued. This illegal activity is especially happening in the areas adjoining the temple premises where it has been stopped without a permit.
He was speaking to media persons here and said that mining of stones has been prohibited without a permit in the area. but despite that it continues to be a menace for the administration. He therefore threatened severe consequences to anyone found guilty of the activity.
He also spoke about the illegal soil filtration happening on agricultural lands despite a ban on it. “I have already submitted a report to the DC about those who continue in the activity in around Rajagere and Kempanhalli and have recommended that their lands be seized.” he added.
He also added that a Grama Panchayat member assaulted village account Doddaiaha who tried to stop the illegal mining of sand. Doddaiaha is part of the newly opened inspection centre covering Santhematavattur and Anchepalya. A complaint has been lodged against the accused in Kunigal police station, and the Tahasildhar has promised strict against those found guilty.
