An unhappy man
M P Prakash can surely claim the title of unhappiest man. Not only have his political calculations gone wrong, he is also not a part of Avva. It was earlier said that Prakash was doing the Gowda’s role in the film. However, it is learnt that he was offered the role of Nanjappa.
Later, Prakash had taken time off from politicking and proceeded towards the shooting spot. The make up was on, and Prakash was about to give his take, when out he went of the film. What happened? According to B Chandregowda, who has written the screenplay and a portion of dialogues for the film, Prakash kept getting calls from the ‘party high command’ (comprising Deve Gowda and sons) and he learnt that then Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy would actually be touring his (Prakash’s) region soon.
On the dates Prakash had allotted for the film, to be precise. After spending half a day at the spot with make up on, poor Prakash had to chuck it all and go to be by the side of his CM. Now, Prakash must surely be ruing more than one missed chance.
All part of the profession

We have already reported about actress Shruthi’s fears about taking up the role of Rangavva in Avva. She was in awe of the director and at the same time was not too sure of carrying a role that demanded maturity beyond her years. But Kavitha soon managed to convince her.
And how? In a heart-to-heart talk, Kavitha mentioned a line in the novel where it says that Rangavva is the lone man in the entire village. Apparently, these words did the trick for Shruthi. The actress has also enjoyed the dialogues that contain a lot of ‘unparliamentary’ words.
But she was a bit reluctant to do a scene with Rangayana Raghu where she was supposed to spit on his face. Sensing her discomfiture, Raghu quietly told her not to worry but go ahead and spit. She did and all the chewed eleyadike dropped on the nose and cheeks of poor Raghu. Acting has its moments, right?
Chilling in Kashmir
Amidst all the galate happening in tinsel town, where is our Uppi? In Kashmir, shooting for two films simultaneously. The Real Star has gone to India’s Switzerland and has shot quite a considerable portion for both Buddhivanta and Rajendra Singh Babu’s Bhimoo’s Bang Bang Kids, along with actress Ramya and other artistes.
Considering the ease with which the shoots have taken place, one can safely assume that the threat of terrorism has not dampened the spirits of filmmakers, specially from Gandhinagar. And what better way to promote Kashmir as the top tourist hotspot than resume shooting for more films? It works out much cheaper too!
A ‘violent’ Ramesh
We have all seen the softer side of actor Ramesh in many films. We have also seen him toting guns of various shapes and sizes, fighting the elements. But this one is a complete surprise. Check the pictures. He is out to chop a woman down to pieces if he can but catch hold of her. And in the next, dear friend Mohan is in his vice-like grip.
What has necessitated such a violent change in him? Is there any urgent need to press for psychiatric services? Fear not. These are just a couple of scenes from his latest film, Accident. This film is shaping up differently, right from the word go. Ramesh has taken several aspects of many real incidents and woven a gripping story.
In Accident, he is part of a group of six friends. Then again, you can see him use guns and the axe of course! We don’t want to reveal more of the plot here, but the lighting and camerawork by G S Bhaskar brings to mind Cyanide. A new and exciting find Ricky Kej is providing the music. The only disappointment here is that the film is scheduled to be released only in January next year.
