The Stipendiary Stewards of the Mysore Race Club have decided to suspend the trainer’s licence of Darius R Byramji from November 11 this year to February 27 next year.

The decision was taken after an inquiry into the running of his ward Echoes Of Light in the Huntsey Gold Trophy 2000 metres on October 11, according to a release from the MRC.

C Alford, who was astride Echoes Of Light in that race, has also been punished, with his jockey’s licence being suspended from November 11 this year to February 27 next year. Both Byramji and Alford will be referred to the Stewards of the Bangalore Turf Club, with the recommendation that their licenses be suspended till October 31, 2008, for contravening the BTC rules of racing, the release stated.
