Udupi Deputy Commissioner V Ponnuraju inaugurated the BusVoice device. Delivering his inaugural address, he said that this GPS based system is a unique device with vehicle monitoring facilities which reveals every data in black and white and helps in maintaining efficiency in mass transport system.
Calling upon the bus drivers to take this initiative of the company in a positive way, Mr Ponnuraju urged them to bring city bus operators to this net which can be helpful in minimising the number of accidents. Citing examples of confusions between the Government, bus owners, drivers and passengers, he said that we have become prey to a system where blame game is a common phenomenon. Only technology can intervene and provide solutions for the existing problems and bus voice device may prove worthy in this direction, he added.
Delivering the presidential address Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao said that public-private partnership is a special feature of the Dakhshina Kannada bus service system and is not seen any where in other parts of the state. The bus voice device will help to improve the transport system in this area, he added.
