New samiti to look into atrocities against SC/ST

Chikkaballapur,DHNS: A new district-level  samiti has been constituted to contain the atrocities committed against the Scheduled Caste and the Scheduled Tribes, under the presidentship of the deputy commissioner recently.
Legislators, parliamentarians, district officers belonging to the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes community, district health officer Anchutagi, KSRTC Divisional Traffic Controller Jayaram, Executive Engineer Devraj have been appointed as the members of the samiti.

As non-official members K C Rajakanth, Narayan G, Nagaraj, C V Lakshmanraju, Smt Amaravathamma, advocate A G Sudhakar, journalist M Jayaram, K P Narayanappa have been  appointed, according to a press release from the office of the Deputy Commissioner.

DC orders distribution of foodgrains, kerosene

Deputy Commissioner Subodh Yadav has issued an order for the release of foodgrains and kerosene to the ration card holders belonging to the various groups in the district for the month of november.

Annapoorna card holders will be given 10 kgs of rice while Anthyodhaya card holders will be issued 28 kgs of rice at the rate of Rs 3 per kg and wheat will be given at Rs 2 per kg.

Akshaya (BPL) card holders will be given 4 kgs of rice per unit and those who have 5 units and above will be given 20 kgs of rice at the rate of Rs 3 per kg.

 Moreover, people in the Chikkaballapur and Chintamani regions who can avail themselves of kerosene through the ration cards will be given 8 litres of kerosene.

However, every ration card holder in Bagepalli and Gudibande region will be given 6 litres of kerosene and those in the rural areas will be given 4 litres of kerosene, added Deputy Commisioner Subodh Yadav.
