With the aim of responding to the problems of the rural people effectively, Deputy Commissioner Navinraj Singh convened a grievances meet on Monday at Kerekatte in Shringeri.

Addressing the meet, Mr Singh said that since most of the top officers of the district have been asked to participate in the meet, the people can bring their problems directly to the notice of the officers concerned and can find solutions to their problems.

Mr Singh receiving grievances from the people made the authorities concerned to respond to the problems and directed them to solve the problems at the earliest.

He took the authorities to task pertaining to several works that have been left incomplete in the region and directed the officers to take stern action against the faulty contractors.

When one of the officials responding to a grievance said that he did not know anything about the issue as he had recently taken charge, DC said that he was in the meet not as a citizen but as an official and hence it was his duty to come prepared for the meet.
