Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the premiers of China, Japan, Korea, Australia and New Zealand and the heads of the 10 South East Asian nations signed the Singapore Declaration on Climate Change, Energy and Environment on Wednesday.
The declaration on climate change is being projected as a major achievement of the third East Asian Summit. The declaration has significance for India, as it pledges to step up cooperation for the “development and use of civilian nuclear power within the framework of IAEA.
