The proclamation imposing president’s rule on Karnataka has to be ratified by both Houses of Parliament before it comes into force and till the ratification, the Legislative Assembly will be in suspended animation.
Bringing out the crucial proclamation just two days after the fall of the seven-day-old B S Yeddyurappa government, the Congress has also signalled its unwillingness to forge any new linkage with H D Deve Gowda’s JD(S) at this juncture.
Otherwise, the ratification could have waited till the first week of December as Parliament is in session till December 7. The Congress, the sources said, was not interested in forging any new alliance as the memories of the collapse of the Dharam Singh-led coalition government, courtesy H D Kumaraswamy, is still fresh in the minds of the party top brass.
