Prashanth shines in drawn match

Prashanth Poojar continued his wicket-taking ways as Bangalore City came away with the first-innings honours in their drawn two-day game against Tumkur Zone in the KSCA inter-zonal under-17 cricket tournament.

After making a modest 221 in their first innings, Bangalore City owed it to Poojar as they restricted Tumkur to 189.

Poojar took for four 21, and Tumkur also paid the penalty for not stitching together any meaningful partnerships.
In the second innings, Bangalore City had reached 125 for four when play was called off.

Brief scores: Bangalore City: 221 all out in 79.2 overs and 125/4 in 23 overs (Mohammed Muneer 47, K Vinay Kumar 39; Amogh Varsha 3-28) drew Tumkur Zone: 189 all out in 75.1 overs (M Jayesh 28, Nazir Ali 25; BV Anand 2-21, Prashanth Poojar 4-21).

President's XI: 237/9 decl in 77 overs and 112/3 in 29 overs (Bharath A Jain 33, Abhijith Sudharshan 31 n.o.; Wasim Baig 2-17) drew Raichur Zone: 191 all out in 58.1 overs (Murali Krishnan 96, Laxman Lamani 28; KP Rohan 2-52, A Adil 3-32, K Shashindra 3-20).

In Shimoga: Dharwad Zone: 303/6 in 90 overs and 14/0 in 6 overs drew Combined City XI: 243 all out in 81.5 overs (Dinesh Borwankar 51, Dhanush B 48, Akshay Ballal 45, Prithvi Ramesh 44; Shamik Kolankar 6-74, Bharath Etagi 2-50).

In Bhadravati: Shimoga Zone: 173 all out in 79.1 overs and 107/4 in 32 overs (GV Manoj 47, PL Karthik 27 n.o.; Darshan Ponnappa 2-25) drew Bangalore Zone: 229 all out in 74.5 overs (GS Chiranjeevi 66, Subhas Angadi 62; Rangaswamy 5-60, BR Karthik 3-21).
