AG appointed
 Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Wednesday appointed B V Acharya as the Advocate General of the State. He will replace Uday Holla, according to Raj Bhavan sources.

IFS officers 
Following Karnataka State Forest Service officers have been appointed as IFS officers: Ambadi Madhav, Venkatesh B and Palaian O.

UNICEF awards  
Dr Vasundhara Bhupathi, a freelance journalist and Prakash Hebbar of Vijay Karnataka have been selected for UNICEF awards for HIV-AIDS journalism. Dr Bhupathi’s article which appeared in Udayavani has been selected as the best feature article on general issues related to HIV-AIDS and Mr Hebbar’s article which appeared in Vijay Karnataka has been selected for the best feature article award on issues related to pediatric HIV-AIDS and PPTCT. The awards will be presented to them shortly in a separate ceremony on World AIDS day.
