No new party, clarifies Datta
Bangalore, DHNS: JD(S) spokesperson Y S V Datta on Wednesday sought to clarify that former chief minister Kumaraswamy is not floating a new party, but intends to give a new shape to the JD(S) in the coming days.
Speaking to reporters, he said Kumaraswamy only wants to give new focus and strength to the party and wants to concentrate on regional issues. “The JD(S) is already a regional party, which has survived despite the onslaught of national parties,” he stated.
Kumaraswamy on Tuesday said that he is contemplating to launch a new, regional party and that he is upset with recent political developments in the State.
Guv to occupy CM’s room
Bangalore, dhns: With President’s rule imposed in the State, Governor Rameshwar Thakur will once again occupy his new office in the chamber normally set apart for the Chief Minister in the Vidhana Soudha. On Wednesday, the chamber was being readied for the Governor after BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa had to vacate it, following the collapse of his government. The Governor’s personal staff will occupy rooms adjoining his chamber on the third floor of Vidhana Soudha.
Janandolana yatras again
Bangalore, dhns: BJP leaders in the State will again embark on Janandolana yatras, from November 26.
This time, the first phase of the yatra will commence from Bangalore (rural), proceed to Mandya and Chamarajnagar, ending at Kodagu on December 2. The BJP will hold its state executive meeting at Davangere, on December 7 and 8.
In December, the party will also organise a convention of its workers in all the districts. District-level executives will deliberate and discuss the political situation in their respective districts, prepare a report and submit it to the state level executive, to enable the party to chalk out its future plans to prepare for assembly elections, sources said.
