MSPL Limited, a leading wind energy producer and part of the Baldota Group of companies, on Thursday, announced in New Delhi that it plans to double its wind energy capacity to 400 MW from the current 191.6 MW by 2010 with an investment of Rs 1,100 crore.
As a recognition to MSPL’s efforts in producing green energy, the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) on Thursday awarded the company with the first prize for independent power producer under wind programme (2002-07). On the occasion of MNRE’s silver jubilee function held in New Delhi, President of India Smt Pratibha Patil gave away the prize to MSPL Ltd
“This augmentation in capacity is in tune with India’s rapid march towards energy independence,” said Baldota Group CMD Narendra Kumar Baldota.
MSPL claimed that with an installed capacity of 191.6 MW, it is the largest producer of wind energy in the country. Till date, the company has invested Rs 924 crore in wind energy projects.
