Freedom fighter and former legislator from Malleswaram Dr T Parthasarathy (90) passed away at 4 pm on Thursday. He is survived by his wife Padmavathy, son and daughter.

Three time corporator, Dr Parthasarathy was elected as an independent MLA in 1957. He was legislator till 1962. He was awarded the Rajyotsava Award in 2000 and B C Roy Award in 1990 in recognition of his service as physician. Dr Parthasarathy was also office-bearer of many organisations and institutions.

The cremation will take place at Harischandra Ghat on Saturday.
